Clean messy CSV before import

CSV exports often arrive with extra spaces, blank rows, repeated records, unused columns or a delimiter that does not match the system you need to import into. The CSV Cleaner gives you a fast browser-only workflow for tidying those files before they reach a database, spreadsheet, mailing tool or reporting pipeline. Paste text or upload a local file, choose the cleanup options you need and download a fresh CSV without sending the source data anywhere.

The parser supports quoted fields, embedded commas and line breaks inside quoted cells. After reading the data, the tool can trim whitespace from each cell, remove rows that are completely empty, drop duplicate rows and export with a consistent delimiter such as comma, semicolon, tab or pipe. It also detects the header row and shows column checkboxes so you can remove fields that are not needed in the final file.

Why clean CSV locally?

Data preparation often happens at the edge of a workflow, right before upload to another system. Using a server-based cleaner means copying the entire dataset to a third party just to remove a few blanks or columns. This page keeps the process local. The original text stays in the browser, the cleaned preview is generated in memory and the download is created as a local Blob. That is a safer default for customer lists, sales exports, inventory reports and internal operations data.

Practical cleanup tips

Review the first row before dropping columns, because the cleaner treats it as the header. If the source has metadata lines above the real table, remove them from the input first. Dedupe compares rows after trimming and column removal, so two records that only differ by surrounding spaces are treated as duplicates when trimming is enabled. After downloading, open the cleaned CSV in your target app and verify a few rows before replacing or importing important production data.
